May the odds be ever in your favor

The Past two weeks I've had to say
"see you later"
to Two amazing examples in my life

Sister Stephanie Haertel
Steph and I played soccer growing up together and were related in some way..
we just considered ourselves cousins
Steph is a beam of light everywhere she goes, she's always been a huge example to me along with Many others
She did an AMAZING job in her farewell talk
the people of Texas are lucky to have her,
She's an amazing person
GOOD LUCK STEPH!

And

Elder Jaxon Keller
(Far Left)
I grew up with these 3 and (maddy) who is missing
all 5 of us were always getting into trouble, wither it be
sneaking out in the middle of the night to get food
shooting spiders with air soft guns inside the house
or
leaving two behind running up 1800 south in there underwear.
(don't ask)

We have so many memories together its so weird to think that
we're "THAT OLD"
I'm so proud of Jax and his decision to serve a mission
He's always been one to look up to.
London, you dont know whats comin to ya!!

(Jake and I in the Kellers Beautiful home)
lets zoom out a little...
Yeah.. Amazing home!!
.............

May the odds be ever in your favor!?
HUNGER GAMES
Last night
Us girls went to the premier of the
HUNGER GAMES
it was Amazing!
So amazing I legitimately spilled all my reeses pieces all over the floor
I don't know what happened or why..
the worst part was that it was at a quite part of the movie so when those babies hit the ground it sounded like a hail storm...
then of course all 3 of us laughed like little girls
And I'm STILL picking popcorn out of my hair,
I wont ruin it but there was an intense part of the movie and lets just say popcorn went flying..
all in all it was a great night with amazing friends!

The Husband and I are off to
VEGAS
for the weekend
so no projects for awhile
cause you know what they say
"What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas!
Have a good Weekend Everyone!

!Hey Hey Hey!
Hope everyone is doing well, the Mr. and I have been pretty busy the past little while
Yes, that includes endless episodes of
Friday Night Lights

Husband has been putting up our fence, and I'm happy to announce that it is complete!!
I'm so proud of him!
I looks Awesome, I don't have pictures yet but you can use your imagination
It definitely completes the house
Tuck and Aspen sure love it

No more being couped up in the house all day until we get home!
You'd think that having them in the back yard all day would make em a little tired
...
No..
It doesn't
well not for tuck anyway.

Jake and I took the pups for a walk yesterday,
I made Jake walk Aspen so i could attempt to "train" tuck in Walking!
Not speed walking
Not running
just Walking
Simple task right?
No wrong
Observe the following
Notice the urgency in tucks body language?
That's how it was the
ENTIRE
TIME
I had to "assume the position"
whats the position??

I pulled this one off google
but just imagine the legs spread a little wider and her back more parallel to the ground

He was ridiculous!
Jake laughed every time I changed my normal voice to my
"large and in charge" "I'm the owner""man" voice
and would grunt
"HEAL"

Dang dog still didn't get it. Any tips!?
Speaking of dogs..
My sister and I pulled this one off the street in my neighborhood
Now this isn't the first experience we've had "saving" dogs "lost" in neighborhoods
I think this time we realized its better they just find their own way home alone

We went to find the owner and turns out we yanked this sucker right off her front lawn
No, we didn't admit to the owner. So we just told her she was down around the corner.
Of the fence in the front yard!!
Whoops!
...............................
(insert jaws theme song here)
Check out those pearly whites!

Before I get into those, let me explain
I am a die hard Dr. pepper addict
its an issue
a BIG one!
I can't go a DAY without the sweet dew

On a good day I'll have 2 maybe 3
32 oz
Clear Cup
Extra Ice
and
Skinny Straw
Dr Peppers a day

Yes that's the only way I'll drink it.
I love it I really do, but my stomach dropped when i saw this:

Its hard to see but if you can, look close at the circled spots
See the
dark
gross
CAVITY!!
I have my one and only sweet sweet Dr. Pepper to thank for those!
I couldn't believe it
I came to realization that i needed to cut back on the dr pepper intake
not only because of the cavities but for my health sake as well.

So, I asked you guys what to do via facebook
Anyone know of a good replacement drink for a Dr.Pepper addict?
Here were some of my favorites:

Kaitlin Vernon Ah you poor thing. I cut out coke and drink coconut water when I crave something sweet.
-I'm for sure going to try it out.

Taylor Metcalf Lemonade :) but don't listen to me I'm downin a dp as we speak ha
-That's what Best Friends are For

Lindy Gubler Gale Water!! Jk Jess. Good luck.
-I'm going to need all the luck i can get!

-hahaha I love it!!

And to top it off......

Cailey Boren Nothing. Dp is gods gift to earth. Don't even attempt cutting down!! Anything but dp is garbage.
-TRUTH!

There were many others following, I thank for your great ideas!!

Any other Tips would be much Appreciated!
Its been
44 Hours sense my last Dr Pepper
Be Proud!
I nearly caved today during lunch
As a stood in subway staring at the drink dispenser
my finger hovered over the Dr. pepper button for a good minute
I thought, I had made it "this far" (not far at all)
i cant go back now!
and quickly dispensed power aid
which by the way tastes like crap...
I texted Jake and the conversation goes as follows

Dr.Pepper Addict: "Babe, You'll never Believe what I'm drinking out of my cup right now"
Doubting Husband:" Well i know what it is not...;) ANYTHING healthy... Like water or Juice
Rehab Dr Pepper user: Sense you wont believe the words coming out of my mouth..

Shocked Proud Husband: "Wooooww Babe! Looks Like your getting ready for mud!

THAT I AM!
Tough Mudder October 2012 Here I come!

Call me Crazy

Training has been a little lazy lately
I've got til October

Up coming project! Stay Tuned!

L is for the way you look at me..

V: very very extra ordinary
and
E:even more than anyone that you adore
Oh
LOVE is
Made for you and MEEEEEE!

Okay, I'm not sure how it goes but you're picking up what I'm throwin down.

I've been looking forward to this project for the longest time
I just couldn't bare the fact of starting a new project when
my "devil shelf" wasn't finished..
Which by the way
STILL
is on the ground
I want to stomp on it every time i walk by it.

The  Following Project is Simple
needed?
3 :1x2 Furing Strips
2 1x4 Furing Strips
Screws
and
Stain

This project was inspired by :
Followed Blogs
Pintrest
and and

Those two suckers!

I've never really been a Home Depot kinda girl
But I had 2, TWO gift cards there..
Why the heck not, right?

Well for starters
When I got there I swear every Worker that saw that I needed help and when i went to ask they would turn there backs and literally B line it in the opposite direction
....
But at least I got the needed materials
Now
I want you to close your eyes and imagine this for just a moment

Girl in Heals
Carrying
5: 8 ft Furing strips down the isles of Home Depot

Trying with all her might to keep it in control..

Okay open your eyes and feel free to laugh
Because that girl was me!

After my awkwardness, I finally tracked down the man in charge of the
 "cutting department"
and Cut those babies right in half!

9: 4ft furing strips.. Check

Lay your furing strips in your desired order
Prep for your
"Anchors"

You CAN use gorilla glue just for extra caution...
Of course I didn't, But its an option
Although I did run into some bad luck on the drilling

Lesson Learned

PRE DRILL your anchor holes!!

We live and we learn and of course
Move on!

Next up... Make er prettttyyyy!
I used my new favorite stain
"Special Walnut"
You of course can use any you desire

Then you wait
and wait

Or spend time with these two cuties!

I love walking in to a house of my two favorites screaming
"AUNT JESS!"
.....................

I also love walking into a DRY project !

..Now for the fun part..

Print out the following letters in your desired font in
size
600
yes..
600

L
O
V
E
Cut them out into cute "white trash" stencils!

You can use whatever kind of paint you want, i just had the green
"Wheat Grass"
left over from our downstairs bathroom

Paint-Paint-Paint

and an
O.V.E
later....

Ladies and Gents

......

..Presenting...
Yeah, My "E" is retarded (don't go back up and look)
I sanded it down to make it look slightly normal

Wallla!!!

....

Hope Everyone is having a good weekend,
As for us?

Tuck
is still hobbling around like a sad pathetic puppy, But we did see his girlfriend Bella today so his confidence level got a little boost

Aspen
isn't getting any younger to say the least
I noticed her face is turning white.. what an awful realization it was.

Handy Husband Jake
has started the Fence!!
Yayyyyaaaa!

Lookin Good Babe!!

As for me,
I had a Girls Weekend in Park City with my Friend Sandy
We overdosed on
Chocolate Hersey Eggs
and
Chips and Salsa
Both of which I'll never eat again
Afterward we went and did some much needed shopping

It was a Great weekend,I'm just exctied to spend time with my amazing husband and continue watching ..
Have a Fun n Safe weekend!!

Bitter Sweet

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,
Its been a great yet crazy one for us.

It started out with an amazing night out
at
The one and only Tucanos at the gateway

Absolutely Amazing
to say the least!

I immediately fell in love with the sweet yummy chicken
I don't know what on earht its called, when he brought it up he called it probably
5 different names in 4 different languages

the only thing that caught my attention was the amazing sweet glaze and the word chicken

I was literally hooked!
I begged our waiter to let us take a "to go" box.
she said "I'm not allowed"
but she couldn't fight with my persuasive ways

"To go box" = One happy girl
....................

Remember back in December? when I said tucker had his LAST Dr Visit.
Well

I was wrong.

Today I got a frantic phone call from Husband saying that Tucker cut his foot and it was bleeding "everywhere."
I was thinking"bid deal, he's fine. Probably just a thorn or something"
...
Well Jake was insistent on taking him to the vet, I guess it was a lot worse than i had figured.. And it definitely was.

As i pulled up to the puppy Dr I glanced into Jake's truck,
and
to put it lightly
It looked like someone had butchered a pig..

All the blood in my face had completely drained
and
I immediately got that "stomach falling out of your butt feeling"

And walked into this.

One happy pup!
The dang turd was "bleeding to death" and was all smiles on that table, I think i was worse off than he was!

Turns out T had cut an artery in his foot and was loosing a lot of blood
Not the best news

After the Dr assured us Tuck would be okay
I asked him:
(I'm sure tuck hates me for this)
"What if he bites his bandage off?"

The Dr.'s answer I couldn't believe it
because no more than a week ago, I caught myself laughing at a dog with this same "sense of style"
 it caused
Jake and I to literally Laugh so hard!

We couldn't help it
Time to bring in the "Big Guns"

hahahaha
I swear we love him
Poor guy can't see where he's going, the first time we put him down to let him walk, he stood a little like this:
For a good 3 min until he realized what to do.

There isn't much we can do for our pup but
love him and keep him off that foot for a good 2 days
Impossible

So far, Yes

(ignore my greasy hair I haven't showered from the gym this morning! its been a long day if you cant tell.)
Wish us luck!

On the Bright side
 We picked up our fence!!
Project for next weekend if the weather cooperates.

Its Been a Minute...

Oookay so its been a month give me a break
a girl can only do so much..
laundry
dishes
clean the house
work
take out the trash..
or
In my case
be so consumed with a TV show that nothing else seems to matter

Its sad and rather pathetic
If you're looking for a good way to waist your time other than
facebook
and
pintrest
take this show
It WILL consume your life

Jake and I have seriously been obsessed with this show
I blame this for my absence
moving on.

My time hasn't been all waisted

A few posts ago I told you I was working on a project for my bathroom ..
well
its finished
Kinda

I'm going to go ahead and call this one my stumper project
Why?
well this project became my worst enemy
not only because it took me forever and plus some to finish it
but because this project believe it or not had more dead ends than I had imagined

It started with this little sucker

Have you ever tried to take a pallet apart?
Yeah.. Everyone on pintrest makes it look simple

Well
let me help reality smack you in the face a little..

It is NOT easy.. those nails attaching it are absolutely not meant to come out,
GO FIGURE!

but with a nice hammer and handy husband
 and of course
 a couple of profanities
You'll get it apart
I used the skill saw to get the edges off only because I didn't need the full piece
made my job a little easier
after you get the pieces needed apart those rusty stubborn nails are still going to be around
once again your hammer will be your best friend with this project
Okay.. any Ideas of what this nightmare is turning into?

Yes ladies and Gents
I'm shooting for a "Pallet Shelf"

I immediately fell in love with the "rustic look"
and this little star. I'm not sure what its supposed to stand for but I liked it
JCI - BAT RTN1
You re Mine!

I applied the back anchors on my 3 main pieces
And Nailed away

Soon enough (a week later)
My project looked half way complete
(I'm not sure why my hood is wrapped around the front of my neck like its cute or something)
Alright, It may or may not look easy to you by this point in the game but let me inform you that
just moments after the snap of this picture, was the Snap of my shelf

the weight of the top shelf ripped off causing  the majority of the project to fall to pieces..
!itsokaylifegoeson!
and so did the project

I went to the one and only
Lowes and got 3 clearance hooks for a steal

I don't have the process pictures but the
 finished project
Insert:
D r u m R o l l

Ahhh
Finished!
Hanging in its assigned placement ?
psh, are you joking?
We haven't even figured out how to hang it yet

Husband has a "few Ideas"
I guess we'll tackle that one this weekend

This project was ridiculous
broke 3 of my drill bits
took me almost a month to finish
(partly because I hated it and found every reason NOT to work on it)
snapped a countless number of screws
and the worst part of it all
it still isn't finished

a midst the terrible project:

When Jake and I bought our home,
Along with the carpet, the floors, the paint and everything else that had to get ripped out
we had a "pretty little tree" in our back yard that quite possibly could have qualified as the ugliest tree standing in utah
Thats not it.. but its close enough

Jake and I  have put off cutting it down only because it just wasnt our number one priorty

But i came home to quite the surprise over the weekend:

TIIIMMMMBBBERRRRR

Tree Down

Oh I couldnt beleive my eyes!!
Best husband award for cutting down the ugly tree
and SO much more!

Tucker and Aspent Turned into Beavers for a day
and help shread the remains
What great little helpers they were!

We're Red Necks.. I know....

Any Ideas on how to hang the stumper project?
Whats your favorite tv show?

::That Moment When::

You Know those "Oh Crap"  moments when you finally get situated and you realize that something is missing?

Here's a few examples

-You sit down on the couch, get comfy.. have a nice bowl of cereal to eat and you have Everything all set to go except... the remote that is on the other end of the room.
"Oh Crap"

-You climb into bed get warm and start to drift off into a nice sleep when you realize you forgot to brush your teeth and go to the bathroom.
"Oh Crap"

I'm sure there are some better ones out there  but those are the ones that seem to happen to me on a regular day basis.
I'm so
Luckkkyyyy!

Well Today I got to experience something along the same lines..

The weekend project from 3 weekends ago has come to a halt
Why?
Well let me explain
This particular project was made specifically for the upstairs bathroom
and just when I was about to complete the project

Helpful Husband Jake
asked..
"Well Jess, Don't you want to wait until we finish the bathroom painting before you do anything with your project?"

Husband your so Smart! S. M .R. T!

So with hopes a little low, I left weekend project in the garage to collect dust..
 yet again.

When I got home
I sat and stewed about the fact that I couldn't finish the project

that's when I got the "bright idea" to do something about it.

Went to the store:
Shook the paint
Got the paint brushes ready
Cleaned out the bathroom
and went to poor the paint into the tray and then!!!!

"Oh Crap"

What tray!?
I was all set to go except for the dang paint tray!

So meanwhile going to Lowes and grabbing a paint tray,

my bathroom was left looking a little like this

Sad.. Empty
Paintless

The most horrific sight.
Rather sad if you ask me and anyone who has been in that bathroom

........

As I sprinted up to the check out line at Lowes and slapped the paint tray down
....
the 99 center paint tray to be exact.

The man looked at me and laughed saying
"man BIG spender today!"

Ask me if I was in the mood...
Not only was Check out man "funny". As I walked out of Lowes Mother Nature decided to be "funny" as well

With Paint tray in hand A STRONG gust of wind decided to snatch my paint tray and take it swirling down parking lot

So if you drove past Lowes and witnessed a maniac running through the parking lot... It was Me

...........

Got the:
Paint
Tape
Brushes
and
Paint tray (liner)

Back in action!

The reason behind my rushed self is because I wanted to finish before Husband got home
which was at Five

I had a good 2 hours to finish

Okay let me explain why I took this embarrassing picture

Reason #1: We have documented everything we have done to our house so i was..
"Obligated"

I know your jealous of my hair and my scary kids scary kids shirt... Its not everyday your face matches your shirt.

Reason #2: See that little Square I'm holding... Its a paint brush..Not just any type of paint brush but
"THE paint brush"

Observe:

Once again.. Ignore my face .. I figured if I was going to be in the picture I may as well make it worth it... now that I see it.. It wasn't
I'll just admit I wanted a "myspace worthy" picture

See the edge
The edge of the mirror..
How on Earth are you supposed to paint that without "smugging" all over the mirror!?

Ladies and Gents
THE paint brush

Lookin good in the neighboorhooooood!
Use that baby for every edge in your house and it'll look Flawless!

Now when I started I knew I wanted to do stripes
thanks to the inspiration given
by:
Pintrest
and
Sister In Law Jac

I threw the tape up and measured about 11 ' thick stripes on the back wall

getting those suckers straight was possibly the hardest thing to do

but I succeeded
and with Minuets to spare before Husband Walked into the door.

Bathroom Complete

Stripe wall from the ground up

                                                           After:

Okay.. NOW I can Finish My project!

Have a Good Weekend Everyone!
