Shanty vs. Chic

As promised Everyone
!!!Project is goin up!!

Supplies for this project are simple

1 foam brush
small can of wood stain
4 cut squares of particle board
2 printed 4x8 pictures
8 screws
Drill gun
and your choice of spray paint

Step 1:

Evenly Spray paint the piece of particle board that people will most likely be seeing
(please ignore my man hands)

Step 2:

After letting the particle board dry  from the spray paint

Sand each edge of the board giving it a round smooth feel to it

should look something like this..
look close

Its okay to have the spray paint come off, its what your shooting for

Step 3
Is where these babies come in
Your wood stain can be any color, just make sure you don't have it too light or you wont be able to see it

Take your Foam brush and go around each sanded edge of your particle board
lightly stroke each side, If it goes over the edge a little bit more than others its okay

it will give it more character

..::As you can see, mine is the farthest thing from perfect::..

After letting each edge sit for a few 20 seconds Wipe off the excess stain with a paper towel

After doing this step to each side
Your particle board should look like the following:

Notice the edges,
The Stain and sanded edges give the board that antique feel and look to it

Step 4:

Get your 4x8 picture and place it in the desired spot of your particle board

For this step i highly recommend making a hole in your picture before just screwing it on
otherwise you'll risk ripping your picture

Drill each corner of your picture to the particle board

note: make sure you don't screw it on to tight or your picture will
crinkle or rip...
yes I learned that from experience

eh we live and we learn right?

After each step is completed
enjoy your finished project :

Confession

When it came to all the Christmas wrapping and things I needed to get finished before the end of the day

I was probably the most impatient person with this project
It still turned out great but when your following the steps
the drying of the spray paint was where i just lost it...
tic toc tic toc!
Time was something i just didn't have so..

I used a blow dryer to help me speed up the drying process
But DO NOT do that!! Its worth Waiting!

Hope you all Enjoy!
Have a Merry Christmas!!
