A loss of words

Okay, Confession....
This weather has gotten me into the
"Why Blog" mood
My apologies

But seriously.... why wont mother nature make up her mind!

..............................

Jake and I have taken a bite to big for us to chew
...
well a few to many bites

Jake and I have finally realized that there is NEVER enough time to do anything,
No matter how much you organize or schedule.. never count on there being enough time

This past week for some reason we've been loosing a lot of sleep,
wither it be because
the dogs wake us up at 4 in the morning
or
the wind is howling so loud it sounds like there is a war going on outside our bedroom window
whatever the reason

It caused our Friday morning to be a little rushed
Lets just say: You know you're going to have a long day when the first words out of your mouth are
"OH SHIT"
and you break a lamp in the process of trying to turn it on so quickly it flies off your night stand

Yes, this was my Friday morning and I went to work looking like the one and only.....

I thought it was a great start to the weekend
..................

Last weekend Jake and I had to return the washer that was so gratefully given to us
and lasted us a good month and a half,

The best month and a half of laundry our clothes had ever seen!

 BIG BITE number 1
we figured it'd be wise of us to just wash all of our clothes before we had to give it back...
the result:

A room full of UN folded laundry...
for a WEEK

Keep in mind this was a week ago...
and there hasn't been much change in the picture.
until today.
We've once again found ourselves at the parents home to do our laundry

But laundry isn't the only thing we came for
......

Does that not look like the worst tasting muffin in the world!

Well It wasn't
The looks are very deceiving in this picture because those muffins were superb!!
Saturday breakfast was a success!

.....................

As for last weekends project..
well its not finished
but the weekend before project is!!
I'm so behind..

Viewer Discretion Advised

I've decided that today's post is more than appropriate for the selected day

Friday The 13th

Now Friday the 13th isn't always terrible

I turned 16 on Friday the 13th..
have I gotten my license suspended?... Twice.
wither that be because I'm a terrible driver or just UN lucky... I'm deciding the later

Not to mention
I'll be turning 21 this year on non other than ...
Friday the 13th
Excited to see what this year brings me!

...Moving on...

Last night I did something that I'm not sure I'll ever regret
.........
I put up a for sale ad for the dog on the right, formally known as booger. It went as follows:

Dog For sale: Black Lab, Loves Music, Shoes, Coffee Tables and Recently Discovered......

Let me Share with you what that "sweet" puppy looks like behind closed doors

ahhhh
there he is!!!
Adorable isn't he!?

Tuck has  pulled way to many straws with me and ONLY me
Jake has had NO effect what so ever

We'll begin here:
We All remember This:

If not ,you can read more on this "accident" Here

well it continues ...

Shoe # 1
Destroyed, the inside has been ripped out and there are millions of booger marks
ALL OVER!

Shoe #2
These are/were my all time favorite lounge around shoes
and along with shoe #1  he went for the inside and ripped out all the fur!

Shoe #3

A broken heel!!?
okay okay okay
That wasn't booger that was me, I've never had a heel break on me it was an awful experience
But I'm blaming booger anyway only because he's already in deep

Continuing
Do you see it!?
I spy something with my little eye.. something that has been destroyed!!
.....
Lets take a closer look
aww booger you shouldn't have!
he was just helping me give the table that rustic look!

no, no.....
lie
Those are chew marks!! Boooooooggerrrrrr!!!!

Lets count how many straws that was:
well there was the:
35 + Cd's #1
3 Shoes..
okay I'll cut him some slack
2 and 1/2 Shoes #2
My Coffee Table #3
Well lets do the math
Join me!
35 Cd's + 2 1/2 shoes+ 1 Coffee table =38 1/2

By this point in the race for most people Tucker would be a dead dog
I think I've done pretty good considering the fact that he's eating only My belongings

Last night was the LAST straw

I had lost it!
Literally
my sanity was gone

After work I went home let the dogs out and fell asleep on the couch
BIG MISTAKE!!

Now, I'm not sure how long I was asleep for, but I woke up to the most horrifying sound.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip rip rip riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiPP tearrrrrr Desstroyyyyyyyyy

I slowly turned my head in the direction of the sound,
and all I see is Foam!
What..... The...... H E Double hockey sticks!!

Brace yourself, viewer discretion is advised

THAT would be my leather couch
......
Looking at it puts a pit in my stomach

After debating about wither or not to go up stairs and get my gun
I came to my senses ... if that's what i could call them

Lets just say tuck Learned his lesson

Some people have told me he only eats my stuff because he "loves me"
I beg to differ

After Husband came home
my sanity slowly but surly returned

Tuck and I WILL NOT be on good terms for quite a while

he is grounded for the next week

It was going to be for a month but Husband Jake Talked it down a little
No walks
No treats
No pet co runs
No cuddling
This Pup is going to regret ever Looking at that couch

As Jake and I crawled into bed last night he kept trying to convince me that it could have been a lot worse
and in the moment I highly disagreed and told him to stop sticking up for tucker

This morning I couldn't help but try and make myself feel better about he situation and well
Jake was right...

The question at the end of this video is what I need answers to..
"What do you do?!"

Project in the making stay tuned!

Ever heard of a Finial!?

I Hadn't Either up until a few days ago..
They're wonderful little things, I love them

.....Let me show you why.....

But before I do.. Let me ask you

Have you ever tried running with two Labs?

one of which:
zig zags in front of you
stops to smell everything
and
is constantly pulling your arm out of its socket...

Well, Last night was my First experience with both of them, I'm telling you  now, I DO NOT recommend trying this.

Although I love them both,
It was seriously the biggest work out trying to get us all on the same pace

Usually it was Tuck trying to get us to go faster, literally dragging Aspen and I
Aspen would stop to smell every corner on the street, then of course T had to smell

I was getting pulled every which way
Luckily it was later at night so the darkness spared me the embarrassment

The walk wasn't a total fail
The last 10 Minuets we were all in sync and runnin like the Champs we wish we were.

.........................

FINIALS

Well Today's project was an easy one, anyone can do it.. with the proper supplies

2 X 6  cut into Measurements of
 4 Inches and 24 Inches
WOOD STAIN
 Decorative Wooden Piece
Gorilla Glue
Staple gun
Screw Gun
Spray paint
and of course
the questionable Finial

Your Cut Pieces should look like this
The first step along with the rest of the project is simple..

Step 1:
Line the edge of your 4 inch piece  with a thin strip of Gorilla Glue
With your 24 Inch piece measure up about 3 Inches. Press and Hold your 4 inch piece against it

Result
I'm Making two so don't let it confuse you..

Gorilla Glue Cant do it by itself
Step 2
Entering.. The staple gun
at an angle staple each side of your 2 in piece to the 24 in
This will secure your 4 in tightly

Dont put that staple gun away!!!
 Step 3
Its hard to see in this picture, but..
Place your decorative wooden piece in your desired spot on your 24 incher
As you can see I placed it near the end.
Once its placed, Staple that baby in place!

Result
Now its actually looking like something right!?

Presenting..
The Final Touches or shall I say the" FINIAL" touches
FINIALS!
Those little things are what I like to call the Knots
Yes, they're called finials but I'm dubbing them the new name of "Knots"
Why?
Let me show you

Step 4
Without Drooling over my Christmas Drill Gun

Screw a hole in the bottom center of your 4 incher
With that...

Step 5
Screw your Finial "knot" into the bottom

Result
THAT is why I call them "Knots"
They tie the whole project together!!!

Onto the small details

Step 6
Spray paint !!

After the
Long
dreadful
Drying Process

We're going to be following the same steps we followed with theShanty Vs. Chic Project with the antiquing steps

and your
Final Project ???

I haven't quite yet decided where to hang them
So in the mean time husband can hold them in random placements for me
Thank Babe!

Hope everyone had a happy new year!!
