Ever heard of a Finial!?

I Hadn't Either up until a few days ago..
They're wonderful little things, I love them

.....Let me show you why.....

But before I do.. Let me ask you

Have you ever tried running with two Labs?

one of which:
zig zags in front of you
stops to smell everything
and
is constantly pulling your arm out of its socket...

Well, Last night was my First experience with both of them, I'm telling you  now, I DO NOT recommend trying this.

Although I love them both,
It was seriously the biggest work out trying to get us all on the same pace

Usually it was Tuck trying to get us to go faster, literally dragging Aspen and I
Aspen would stop to smell every corner on the street, then of course T had to smell

I was getting pulled every which way
Luckily it was later at night so the darkness spared me the embarrassment

The walk wasn't a total fail
The last 10 Minuets we were all in sync and runnin like the Champs we wish we were.

FINIALS

Well Today's project was an easy one, anyone can do it.. with the proper supplies

2 X 6  cut into Measurements of
 4 Inches and 24 Inches
WOOD STAIN
 Decorative Wooden Piece
Gorilla Glue
Staple gun
Screw Gun
Spray paint
and of course
the questionable Finial

Your Cut Pieces should look like this
The first step along with the rest of the project is simple..

Step 1:
Line the edge of your 4 inch piece  with a thin strip of Gorilla Glue
With your 24 Inch piece measure up about 3 Inches. Press and Hold your 4 inch piece against it

Result
I'm Making two so don't let it confuse you..

Gorilla Glue Cant do it by itself
Step 2
Entering.. The staple gun
at an angle staple each side of your 2 in piece to the 24 in
This will secure your 4 in tightly

Dont put that staple gun away!!!
 Step 3
Its hard to see in this picture, but..
Place your decorative wooden piece in your desired spot on your 24 incher
As you can see I placed it near the end.
Once its placed, Staple that baby in place!

Result
Now its actually looking like something right!?

Presenting..
The Final Touches or shall I say the" FINIAL" touches
FINIALS!
Those little things are what I like to call the Knots
Yes, they're called finials but I'm dubbing them the new name of "Knots"
Why?
Let me show you

Step 4
Without Drooling over my Christmas Drill Gun

Screw a hole in the bottom center of your 4 incher
With that...

Step 5
Screw your Finial "knot" into the bottom

Result
THAT is why I call them "Knots"
They tie the whole project together!!!

Onto the small details

Step 6
Spray paint !!

After the
Long
dreadful
Drying Process

We're going to be following the same steps we followed with theShanty Vs. Chic Project with the antiquing steps

and your
Final Project ???

I haven't quite yet decided where to hang them
So in the mean time husband can hold them in random placements for me
Thank Babe!

Hope everyone had a happy new year!!
